Love them or loathe them, our feet are pretty incredible… each one is made up of 26 bones, 20 muscles, and have an incredible 250,000 sweat glands between them! OMG! Include the ankle and you have 33 joints too! So isn’t it about time we treated them to some wellbeing on a regular basis? Yes – even during winter when they are ‘tucked away’.
Back in February, after months of developing, we launched our Therapeutic Harmony Massage. While our clients are treated to some serious deep tissue therapy, we are treated with the loveliest of compliments afterwards! A truly indulgent experience, we felt we needed to expand the harmony and develop a treatment that focuses on the feet for those who don’t always have 85 minutes spare or aren’t so partial to a full body massage.
As therapists, we spend much of the working day on our feet so we were extremely willing to be guinea pigs for each other and recommend that we might just need to tweak slightly here and there and maybe just have one more practice on each other!!! So here it is… Our therapist’s choice… The wonderful new Therapeutic Harmony Foot Massage.
Completely different to any pedicure, this is all about massage, relaxation and overall well being. We use a heavenly blend of Neroli, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Juniper essential oils to perfectly compliment this deeply therapeutic foot treatment.
With hot towels and a vitamin E and marine collagen scrub to cleanse the feet, warm blankets, deep inhalations, hydrating foot mask and a specially selected teapigs herbal tea to finish, this really is a treatment for all the senses, leaving your feet feeling divine and your mind deeply de-stressed. Massage enthusiasts – another one to add to the list!
OUR TOP TIPS FOR TOOTSIES…
*Put your feet up!! After a massage it’s important you relax a little and don’t rush around undoing all the good work we’ve done! The chores can wait – put the kettle on and enjoy some time out.
*Don’t let your lovely gel polish fool you – nails and cuticles need regular attention and although your gel polish often looks immaculate after weeks of wear, a daily application of cuticle oil nourishes the skin and the nails as they grow, ensuring your nails are nourished even when covered in a polish. (That goes for your fingernails too!)
*A little soak goes a long way – why not get that foot spa out of the attic?! A few drops of your favourite oil in some warm water aaaaand breath. Bliss! Follow with a little foot cream for a quick treat at home. Our fav is herb farmacy foot cream containing comfrey, spearmint and shea butter which regularly sells out here in the salon.
*Don’t neglect them in winter! Although they might not be seeing the light of day, you’re still stomping around on them all day everyday so give them the love they deserve and need! Monthly pedicures are recommended – Click here to see our pedicure range.
A final thought…
The average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, which adds up to about 115,000 miles over a lifetime – that’s more than four times around the earth! Time to book some out of this world pampering with our Therapeutic Harmony Foot Treatment.
See you and your feet soon!
